email: pubinfo@mthoodbrewing.com Since that time thousands of skiers, fishermen, hikers, tourists and locals have enjoyed the hospitality, food and beers to be experienced at the Pub. The restaurant and brewery share space in a "Cascadian" stone and timber lodge. Take note of the unique flagstone walls quarried from an ancient lake bed in Oregon's High Desert; relax in the warm glow of knotty pine and spruce interior, and enjoy the decor of fly fishing prints, paraphernalia and wood carvings. Families and groups will feel welcome, and the menu has many hearty and wholesome choices for hungry travelers and outdoor enthusiasts. Espresso drinks, Oregon wines, dessert, and of course, the freshly brewed ales of the Mt. Hood Brewing Co. complement the menu selections. Nine distinctive ales are created in the brewery by the marriage of pure glacial water, Pacific Northwest grown grains and hops, and the inspiration of the Mt. Hood Brewing Co.'s brewers. Mt. Hood Brewing Co. was founded upon the notion that beer, like fresh bakery goods and other artisan-crafted perishable products, is best when brewed with the highest quality ingredients obtainable, and enjoyed close to its source. With this concept in mind, the brewery has been kept intentionally small and the geographical range of its distribution within Oregon borders. Mt. Hood beers can be found in establishments that serve quality beers throughout the state of Oregon.
Government Camp is the hub for winter sporting activities and summer tourism on Mt. Hood and home to Timberline Lodge, a National Historic Landmark constructed by the WPA using old-world tools and techniques in 1937. Other attractions in the area in addition to the usual winter activities include visiting the route of the old Barlow Road portion of the Oregon Trail, fishing in lakes and streams, mountain biking, hiking and climbing. Riding ski area chair lifts for panoramic views of the Cascade Mountains, Central Oregon High Desert, and the Willamette Valley is a popular summer activity. The famed Columbia River Gorge and Lewis and Clark's route is a forty-five minute drive to the north.
